Community Hub

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)

At St. George’s CE Primary Academy, our Community Hub is a welcoming space at the heart of our school, dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of our children, families and wider community.

Opened in September 2026, the Hub reflects our commitment to living out our Christian values through care, compassion and service. It provides a safe, friendly environment where adults and families can access advice, guidance and practical support when they need it most.

Meet Miss Horsley, Family Support Worker

The Community Hub is led by Miss Horsley, our Family Support Worker, who works closely with children, parents and carers to help families overcome challenges and access the right support.

A Family Support Worker acts as a trusted point of contact for families, offering practical guidance, emotional support and signposting to specialist services. Their role is to help strengthen family wellbeing, remove barriers to learning and ensure that every child has the best possible opportunity to thrive.

How Can a Family Support Worker Help?

Miss Horsley can provide support with a wide range of family needs, including:

  • Parenting advice and guidance
  • Children’s emotional wellbeing and behaviour
  • Attendance and punctuality concerns
  • Family relationships and home routines
  • Financial worries and accessing local support services
  • Housing, benefits and community resources
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Signposting to external agencies and specialist services

Whether you need help with a specific concern or simply want someone to talk to, Miss Horsley is available to listen, advise and help find solutions.

A Space for Support and Connection

Our Community Hub is designed to be a place where families feel valued, supported and connected. Throughout the year, the Hub may host:

  • Parent workshops and information sessions
  • Family wellbeing activities
  • Coffee mornings and drop-in support
  • Community events
  • Opportunities to access advice from external agencies

Through these opportunities, we aim to build strong partnerships with families and create a supportive school community where everyone can flourish.
